Project Scope:  
Provided design and construction engineering services for a new 5,000 square foot pre-engineered metal building addition (inclusive of the existing 2,400 square feet) at the Valdez Animal Shelter.

  • Provided electrical demolition plan
  • Provided power one-line/service entrance
  • Provided schedule, power and lighting plan
  • Provided Telecommunications and fire alarm control plan
  • Provided mechanical demolition plan
  • Provided heating and ventilation plan
  • Provided potable water piping, drain waste and vent plans
  • Designed foundation and slab plan
  • Designed a facility that contains a cat room, dog kennel area, puppy room, lobby, restrooms, break room, food room, volunteer room, medical room, storage room, a mechanical room, an incinerator room, bonding room, isolation room, grooming room, a garage and an office
  • Provided three conceptual floor plans for the City of Valdez to review based on Shelter needs, mechanical needs, and electrical system needs
  • Provided site and grading plan, a parking lot, utility connections and some landscaping
  • Provided all necessary site survey information, geotechnical investigations and environmental permitting, where applicable
  • Acquired all required State and local permits and Fire Marshal package
  • Submitted all design drawings and specifications to the City of Valdez for review in sufficient time
  • Worked with a $735,000 budget to complete this project
  • All new designs met ADA compliance and were provided in accordance with the requirements of the latest applicable local, state, and national regulations and codes.
