Project Scope:  
Heat loads and ventilation requirements were analyzed for 39 buildings which included domestic hot water loads and steamheated water storage tanks. Provided validated heat loss calculations for 13 buildings located on Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. All buildings were evaluated in compliance with Military Standards.

Project Details:


  • Designed new lighting and power plan for mechanical rooms
  • Provided electrical design, drawings, and specifications
  • Provided mechanical HVAC design, drawings, and specifications for the conversion of
            six existing buildings from a central steam heating
            system to a self-contained heating system
  • Designed heat calculations and boiler sizing, interconnection drawings and mechanical
            room modifications for Building 9480
  • Provided steam evaluation including the adequacy of the low-pressure steam to meet
            the domestic hot water demand
  • Verified the existing heating and cooling calculations
  • Demolition or relocation of existing related or non-related equipment
  • Project Manager coordinated and provided direction of the work utilizing
            Microsoft Project
  • Tracking of construction milestones
  • Provided coordination between Contractor, Corp of Engineers and military personnel
  • Provided document control: i.e., DCVR’s, Submittals, and RFI’s
  • Conducted job meetings
  • Made recommendations for and processed requests for changes in the work and
            maintained records of change orders, and scheduled and conducted job meetings
            to ensure orderly progress of the work
